Sunderland have reportedly begun talks with Sam Allardyce regarding the vacant managerial post at the club.
The Black Cats are currently on the search for a new head coach following Dick Advocaat's resignation.
According to The Sun, the Wearside outfit are expected to make a move for a new manager in the international break.
It is added that they are currently holding negotiations with Allardyce over the manager's role and will come to a conclusion during the weekend.
Black Cats have had a dismal start to their league campaign, and currently find themselves placed 19th with just three points.
