Newly appointed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi to be his first arrival at the club.
Klopp is thought to have kept a keen eye on the young striker ever since his time at Borussia Dortmund.
According to Calciomercato, the German coach will look to prise away the 21-year-old from Sassuolo in the winter transfer window.
It is added that the Reds would be dependent on Juventus, who are said to have a buy-back clause of £18.5m in the player's contract.
Berardi was co-owned by Juventus until this summer, when Sassuolo bought him for £7.4m.
