Arsenal star Nacho Monreal has revealed that negotiations are taking place regarding a contract extension.
The 29-year-old is currently the club's undisputed first-choice for the left-back role ahead of Kieran Gibbs.
Monreal's current deal expires at the end of next season, and this has casted doubts over his future at the Emirates.
However, the Spaniard has disclosed that talks are underway over an extension and a deal could be put in place provided the club agree to his demands.
"I have always said that my idea is to stay here," he told talkSPORT. "We are talking [with the club], we need to talk and reach an agreement. I wish that to happen. Of course I'd like to stay here"
Monreal has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this term.
