Manchester United have joined German giants Bayern Munich in the pursuit of highly-rated Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the Capital outfit following his switch from Santos in 2013,
Anderson had been on the radar of United over the summer, but his £57m buy-out clause came in the way of any kind of deal.
The Mirror now reports that Louis van Gaal's side are ready to rival Bayern Munich, and make a winter offer in the region of £40m for the Brazil international.
It is added that United are front-runners in the player's chase with the Bavarian giants unwilling to dish out more than £35m for the talented playmaker.
Anderson has scored five goals in 15 appearances for his side this term.
