Spanish side Espanyol are reportedly closing in on a deal for Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes.
The 33-year-old has been at odds with manager Louis van Gaal ever since his refusal to play for the second string side.
Valdes had been tipped to make way in the summer, but he failed to find to reach an agreement with any club.
Goal.com understands that United are ready to offload Valdes on a free transfer in January, with Espanyol deemed to be interested in his services.
It is added that Espanyol have held talks with Valdes' representatives and a deal could be finalized in the New Year.
Valdes has made just two league appearances for United till date.
