The 18-year-old had attracted interest from some of Europe's elite sides in the summer before he inked a new long-term deal at St.Andrew's.

Recent speculation had suggested that league toppers Leicester City could come up with an offer for the youngster, but according to The Star, the Saints are set to make offer stiff competition in the pursuit of the player's signature.

Birmingham City are expected to accept bids in excess of &pound4m for their star asset in the winter transfer window.
