Aston Villa manager Remi Garde is keen on wrapping up a January move for Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
The 30-year-old is a fans' favourite at Marseille having made over 400 appearances for the club in all competitions.
According to RMC, Villains boss Garde is desperate to sign a new shot-stopper as he aims to keep the club aloft in the Premier League in the second half of the season.
It is added that the 49-year-old is a huge admirer of Mandanda's talents, and is confident that the France international could play a vital role in the club's campaign.
Mandanda plays second fiddle to Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris for France.
