The Morocco international joined the Bavarian giants from AS Roma last season, and has since then played a bit-part role in the first-team.

Tuttomercato claims that the Old Lady are prepared to make a &pound23m bid for the central defender with incoming Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti not convinced with the player's abilities.

It is added that former club Roma could also make a move for the 28-year-old, given his impressive showing during his previous spell.

Benatia has made just six league starts for Bayern this term.
