Italian head coach Antonio Conte will request the signing of Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, once he takes over the reigns at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The Blues are expected to replace interim boss Guus Hiddink with Conte at the end of the season.
Cavani has been long linked with a switch to the English top flight, and according to The Mail, Conte will seek to bring the Uruguay international as his first signing to the West London giants this summer.
It is added that the club are also interested in Juventus\' Paul Pogba, but are unwilling to match the hefty £62m price tag.
Chelsea are currently placed 10th in the league standings.
