Mourinho wants Kane at United

19 March 2016 - 20:25

José Mourinho will make Tottenham's Harry Kane his primary transfer target if he becomes Manchester United manager this summer, according to a report from The Independent today.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Mourinho has been linked with taking over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford ever since he departed Chelsea at the back end of 2015. The Portuguese and his entourage are confident that he will be the man chosen to replace the veteran Dutch tactician, should United decide that such a change is required.

The Independent now claim that Mourinho has drawn up a list of transfer targets who he believes will help return the Red Devils to the upper echelons of the Premier League, and England striker Kane is chief among them.

Kane, 22, has netted 53 times since the beginning of the 2014-15 season and has become a key player for club and country.

Tottenham remain extremely determined to hang onto their star man, and if any deal is to be struck, a British record transfer fee may be required.
