John Terry set for Chelsea extension?

27 March 2016 - 07:25

John Terry could earn himself a new deal at Chelsea, a report from The People claims. The England international had been earlier tipped to leave Stamford Bridge at the expiry of his contract this summer.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Bournemouth star
  • Atletico Madrid planning shock move for Chelsea star
  • The 35-year-old has given his heart and soul for the West London giants, who have had a dismal league season this term.

Terry had earlier confirmed that he would be seeking a fresh challenge overseas in the summer, but according to The People, the veteran defender may get a lifeline if Antonio Conte is to take over at the helm.

It is added that Conte prefers to play three at the back, and Terry could be in the middle of the formation.

Nevertheless, the Blues are expected to make a move for a new centre-back with Kurt Zouma likely to miss the start of next season with a knee injury.

Chelsea are currently tenth in the league standings, nine points adrift of the European qualification places.
