Italian giants AC Milan have began negotiations with Nice midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa over a summer move. The 28-year-old has been in exemplary form for the Ligue 1 outfit, who are vying for European qualification this term.
Ben Arfa joined the French outfit last summer following a dismal spell at Newcastle United that saw him dropped to the reserves.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri have expressed their interest in landing the Frenchman, whose existing deal at Nice is due to expire at the end of the season.
It is added that manager Sinisa Mihajlovic is confident that Ben Afra has goods to dominate the midfield, and could be the ideal replacement for outbound star Jeremy Menez.
Ben Arfa has amassed 13 goals in the French league this season.
