Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi. The 22-year-old has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs through his impressive showing in Serie A.
Icardi had been on the United radar last summer, but the Nerazzurri were reluctant to offload their star man.
Since then, Icardi has gone on to play an influential role in the forward line and this has kept the club aloft in the chase for Champions League football.
However, the young marksman has now hinted that he could leave Inter if they fail to qualify for the elite competition.
“My future without the Champions? I am here to win with this club, but if there will be some offers, we’ll have to talk with the club. I think about playing,” Icardi told Mediaset Premium.
It will be interesting to see whether the player would favour a switch to Old Trafford, if they are to fall in a similar situation to his current side.
United are currently fifth in the league standings, two points adrift of the Champions League places.
