The Belgian international has had an average spell at Old Trafford this season with much of his success coming in the club's FA Cup campaign.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Giallorossi are set to launch a &pound15m offer for the combative midfielder after he was spotted watching their clash with Napoli on Monday.

The Capital outfit are on the search for a new midfielder with Radja Nainggolan being linked with a potential move to the Premier League.

Roma are currently third in Serie A with 71 points.
