David de Gea is set to leave Manchester United, if Louis van Gaal remains incharge next season. The 25-year-old has three years left on his existing deal at Old Trafford.

  • The Spain international came close to joining Real Madrid last summer before a delay in paperwork cancelled the agreement on deadline day.

Since then, De Gea has committed his future to United on a four-year contract thus leading to suggestions that Real could end their pursuit for the player.

According to The Mail, the Spaniard could signal his desire to leave the Mancunian giants this summer, if the club's hierarchy fail to dismiss Van Gaal from the head coach role.

It is added that the news is likely to attract interest from long-time admirers Real, who are still keen on pursuing a deal for the world-class shot-stopper.

De Gea will look to earn his 16th clean sheet of the season as his side take on Bournemouth in their final league fixture on Tuesday.
