Liverpool priced out of Vidal chase

28 May 2016 - 14:00

Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Aleix Vidal after Barcelona slapped a &pound45m price tag on his services. The 26-year-old joined the Catalan giants from Sevilla last summer but had to wait until the New Year for first-team action due to the club's transfer embargo.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on signing a new full-back as he aims to lodge a strong challenge for the league title next season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Europa League finalists have been dashed in their pursuit of Vidal, with Barca unwilling to offload their player unless a big-money offer is made.

Barca currently consider Vidal as the perfect fit for the right-back role with Dani Alves being linked with a potential switch to Juventus.

Vidal made nine league appearances during his debut season with the La Liga champions.
