Manchester United are understood to have placed a £10m bid to sign highly-rated West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford.
Oxford, 17, made a name for himself in midfield during the Hammers' 2-0 win at Arsenal in the opening fixture of last season.
He followed to play a minor role in the senior team with manager Slaven Bilic opting to keep the player within his limits.
According to The Sun, new United boss Jose Mourinho has sanctioned a £10m sum to secure the services of teenager, who has the ability to pay at either midfield or centre-back.
Oxford appeared in 12 league games for West Ham United last term.
