Coppell: we had a good go

19 January 2008 - 22:11

Steve Coppell has praised his Reading side for the way they took Man Utd till late on before goals from Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the three points in their Premiership encounter on Sunday.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Coppell felt, though, that his side pushed the visitors all the way and that the 2-0 score-line wasn’t representative of the game itself.

"We put an awful lot into the game and tested them to the end. But the quality of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo proved too much.

"We had a real go at them and although it looks like a routine 2-0 victory, it certainly wasn't that.

"We didn't want to sit back and we often feel our best defence is to attack and it almost paid off today."
