Man Utd launch club-record bid for French playmaker

03 June 2016 - 05:33

Manchester United are reported to have tabled a club-record bid to re-sign midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus. The France international graduated from the Red Devils' academy before moving on to the Old Lady on a Bosman in 2012.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • Pogba has since featured on a regular basis for the Turin giants, and he is now a pivotal part of their midfield setup.

The Sun says United have lodged a &pound60m record offer to land the 23-year-old, who is Jose Mourinho's top priority for the summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, the sum falls well short of Juventus' &pound80m valuation for their asset, and this is likely to dent United's chances of landing the Frenchman.

League rivals Chelsea and European champions Real Madrid are also on the hunt for the midfield sensation.

Pogba has racked 34 goals in 178 appearances for his club till date.
