Man Utd to cash in on Matteo Darmian

09 June 2016 - 13:39

Manchester United are willing let to go of Italian defender Matteo Darmian with interest high from Juventus. The Italian had a mixed debut season for the Red Devils after his move from Torino last summer.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The 26-year-old started the 2015-16 campaign in top fashion as he displaced Antonio Valencia for the right-back position.

However, the pace of the English game caught up with him and he soon found himself switching to left-back for the injured Luke Shaw before being dumped to the substitutes' bench in place of club graduate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Italian source Tuttosport says United boss Mourinho is open to offloading the versatile defender with Serie A holders Juventus having made contact to land his signature.

Max Allegri's side consider Darmian as a potential replacement for Stephan Lichsteiner, who is rumoured to be on verge of joining Chelsea.
