Man City lodge bid for Chelsea target

17 June 2016 - 07:05

Manchester City are reported to have tabled a formal offer for Juventus' Swiss full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. The 32-year-old is willing to switch clubs after the Old Lady signed Dani Alves from Barcelona.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Lichtsteiner has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks with manager Antonio Conte open to a reunion with his former player.

Tuttosport says the Blues may not have an easy path to the right-sided defender with league rivals City having placed a &pound8m for his services. The offer is still below Juve's &pound12m valuation, and this is likely to prolong negotiations among the player's suitors.

The Swiss international joined the Turin giants from Lazio in the summer of 2011.
