Wojciech Szczesny to return to Arsenal

Roma fail to negotiate Szczesny deal

Wojciech Szczesny to return to Arsenal

20 June 2016 - 05:44

Wojciech Szczesny will be back at the Emirates for pre-season training after AS Roma failed to seal a permanent deal for his services. The Poland had a successful loan campaign with the Giallorossi last term.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Szczesny, 26, was expected to secure a long-term contract with Roma following a temporary spell that saw him cement the number one role at Stadio Olimpico.

However, things have not gone as planned since then, with the Gunners reluctant to accept anything less than £15m for their graduate, The Guardian reports.

It is added that Roma will shift their focus elsewhere as they are nowhere near the Gunners' valuation for the player.

Szczesny is currently featuring for Poland at the European championships in France.
