Man City move for Nolito as Navas exit nears

22 June 2016 - 11:43

As the Pep Guardiola revolution takes hold at Manchester City, Spanish winger Jesus Navas is likely to be a casualty of the Catalan coach's overhaul.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • And reports in Italy today claim that Inter Milan and AC Milan are both interested in taking the 29-year-old former Sevilla player to Italy.

Speculation over Navas's exit is given further credence by City's apparent deal for Celta Vigo forward Nolito.

Rumours began to circulate last night that the Citizens have matched Nolito's contractual release clause and have also agreed personal terms with the former FC Barcelona player.

Barcelona had been keen to bring Nolito back to the Camp Nou this summer, but it appears City have won the race to sign the 29-year-old.

Nolito is a right-footed winger who prefers to play on the left, but is also comfortable operating on the right-side of the attack. His arrival at the Etihad would surely be curtains for Navas, who has failed to convince since his £16 million purchase three years ago.

Navas only has one year remaining on his contract, so, in theory, he'd be available for a cut-price fee.

CalcioMercato.it are today reporting that both Milanese clubs would be interested in taking the 30-year-old to the San Siro next season.

Navas is a full Spain international with 35 caps to his name. He was a member of nis country's successful 2012 European Championship and 2014 World Cup campaigns.
