Shaun Wright-Phillips has been dealt a cruel blow of an ankle injury which could leave him out for some time. The player looked in pain against Birmingham in the Premiership at the weekend, and after landing awkwardly.

    “He was very good in the last week so even if we are used to losing all the players who are in good form, we want him back as soon as possible.”



    Chelsea already have key players Didier Drogba, Michael Essien and Salomon away at the African Nations Cup, and John Terry and Frank Lampard out injured.
