Young starlet 'excited' by Man Utd switch

05 July 2016 - 13:14

Hirving Lozano has admitted he is excited about his potential switch to Manchester United this summer.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • The 20-year-old Pachuca player spoke to Mexican outlet ESTO while preparing for the summer Olympics in Rio with the Mexico squad, saying "It’s good teams like those are looking at me and I think I need to keep doing things well so that teams come watch me do it at international level."

"Of course the thought of playing for Manchester United excites me, and I need to give it my all [for the move to happen]."

The youngster has been impressive since making his debut in the Liga MX for Pachuca in 2014: the seven cap Mexico international has played 91 league games for his club, scoring 21 goals.

Lozano has recently been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with his father in law claiming that he will make the switch to Manchester after the Olympics in Rio.

Pachuca's club president has attemped to calm the rumours of a potential Lozano transfer however, insisting that there have been talks between the two clubs, but no agreement has been reached as yet.

Lozano is a right-footed left-winger known for his pace and dribling skills. Reminicent of a right-sided version of Arjen Robben, the youngster is adept at cutting inside onto his stronger foot, before curling a shot towards the far post.

The player was impressive in Mexico's Copa America campaign last month and will now conclude a busy summer by taking part in the Olympic football tournament.
