Ligue 1 giants Monaco have secured the services of Lille defender Djibril Sidibe on a five-year contract. The 23-year-old was previously a transfer target for Arsenal.
The full-back came off a bright season with Lille which earned him a place in France's stand-by list for Euro 2016.
Monaco had been in constant communications with the player's agent over the past month, and a late bid from the Gunners couldn't deter the transfer proceedings.
"It's a great honour for me to have signed for Monaco," Sidibe told the club's official website. "Monaco are a club with a huge history in Ligue 1 and I am very satisfied to be here."
The news will come as a big blow for manager Arsene Wenger, who has previously failed with an approach for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
Sidibe appeared in 96 league games during his four-year spell at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
