Inter to cash in on Mauro Icardi

Arsenal alerted as Mauro Icardi is put up for sale

Arsenal could come up with an offer for Mauro Icardi after Inter Milan decided to place him in the transfer market. The Argentine currently owns the captain's armband at the San Siro outfit.

  • Chelsea eyeing surprise move for former Arsenal striker
  • Man Utd favourites to sign £39m Brazilian midfielder
  • The 23-year-old had been tipped to leave the Nerazzurri earlier last month before the club's hierarchy dismissed the claims.

However, with the side in a tight situation with the Financial Fair Play ruling, they have opted to cash in on their skipper.

"From what I can see, Inter have put Icardi up for sale. There are many clubs interested. We will evaluate the situation with all due respect for everyone," Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara told Calciomercato.

"There is no release clause in his contract and we hope Inter won't ask for a sum that is outside the market value, but rather suited to his contract."

The news could ignite interest from Arsene Wenger's side, who have previously enquired over the player's availability.

Icardi is currently rated in the £30m range.
