Arsenal could be lining up a bid for Turkish star Arda Turan after Barcelona decided to place him in the transfer market.

The 29-year-old joined the Catalan giants from Atletico Madrid for &pound33m last summer, but had to wait until the New Year for his first appearance due to their transfer ban.

Spanish publication Marca says the Spanish champions have decided to cash in on Turan this summer with the player having failed to impress with his limited chances in the first-team.

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are among the top clubs vying for the player's services in the transfer window.

The Gunners were Turan's preferred destination last term before Barcelona jumped in for his signature.

Barca are willing to offload their midfielder for as little as &pound23m.
