Brazilian international Willian has ended speculation over his future by inking a fresh four-year contract at Stamford Bridge. The 27-year-old was the stand-out performer in what was a dismal league campaign for the Blues last term.

  • It had been earlier claimed that the midfielder could leave the Blues amid strong interest from Manchester United, who are coached by former boss Jose Mourinho.

However, the reports have had no effect on the player, and he has penned an extension which will keep him at West London until the summer of 2020.

"I'm very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. It's a dream to continue with this club and over the next four years I will try to help the team win more trophies," Willian told the club's official website.

Willian recently returned for pre-season training at the club's Cobham base.
