United agree deal for Pogba

Pogba agrees to Man Utd switch

13 July 2016 - 10:20

Paul Pogba has agreed personal terms with Manchester United, and prefers a return to Old Trafford over a move to Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Marca is reporting that the Juventus midfielder has agreed to terms with United on a five-year deal worth a staggering €13 million per year.

The Spanish newspaper also claims that it is Pogba's first choice to join United, and that he views a move to Real Madrid as a back-up option.

It has been rumoured recently that, following the conclusion of the UEFA European Championship -- in which Pogba helped France reach the final, only to lose to unfancied Portugal -- United were set to launch a potentially world record breaking €120 million offer for the talented midfielder.

Reports in Spain last week suggested that Madrid were also interested in the player, but were unwilling to match United's bid, and therefore ruled themselves out of the race to sign the Juvetus man.

Juventus are thought to be very reluctant to part ways with one of their biggest stars, and have taken the public stance that Pogba is not for sale.

But the feeling is that, with the astronomical fee on offer from United, the Italian champions could yet be swayed.

Pogba left United as a teenager in 2011, frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities he was being given by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Frenchman went on to win four consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus, and could now be set for a shock return to Old Trafford.
