Chelsea are nearing an agreement for Santos' Gabriel Barbosa after they outbid Juventus to the player's signature. The youngster is regarded as one of the best upcoming talents from Brazil.

Gabriel Barbosa, commonly known as Gabigol, was recently the subject of £15m bid from Juventus.

Brazilian source Globoesporte says the Blues have been alerted by Juventus' approach, and have now made a bid in the region of £17m for the highly-rated forward.

The 19-year-old has been a key contributor for Santos since the departure of Neymar to Barcelona in 2013.

He has gone on to net 56 goals in 152 appearances for his club, whilst scoring twice in four outings for his national side.

Gabigol was recently part of the Brazilian squad which were ousted in the group stages of the Copa America Centenario.
