Juventus and Napoli officials have met to discuss the possible transfer of star striker Gonzalo Higaín, with the Ciucciarelli informing the Serie A champions they they will not accept any offer below the Argentinian's €94 million release clause.
The two clubs attended the first Lega Calcio meeting of the season -- in which the powers that be from all of Italy's top division clubs get together.
Apparently, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis had advised Juventus officials that he will not accept any bid for Higuaín that falls short of his €94 million buyout clause.
Juventus have been rumoured to be preparing an offer for last season's Serie A top scorer which consists of cash plus several players, but Napoli are unwilling to do such a deal.
Higuaín has also drawn interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal reported to have offered €60 million plus Olivier Giroud for the 28-year-old striker.
But Higuaín has supposedly agreed personal terms with Juventus, on a contracts that will see him earn €7.5 million per year, taking him ahead of AS Roma's Daniele De Rossi as the highest paid player in Italy.
Meanwhile, Juventus remain resolute in their public stance that their star midfielder Paul Pogba is not for sale, despite a potentially world record offer being on the table from Manchester United, with the 23-year-old earmarked by new United boss José Mourinho as his number one target.
