Chelsea seem to have stepped up their interest in Everton striker Romelu Lukaku after they were priced out of their chase for Alvaro Morata.

Real Madrid are currently holding out on their &pound65m valuation for Morata, and this has urged the Blues to look at options elsewhere.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio says the Blues have lodged a &pound50m bid for Lukaku, who is assessing his future at Goodison Park.

The Belgian international has earlier cited his intentions to leave the Toffees with interest high among the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

Ronald Koeman's side are in talks over a fresh contract with Lukaku and remain confident that he will commit his long-term future to the club.

Lukaku has racked 45 goals for Everton since his &pound28m switch from Chelsea in 2014.
