Chelsea consider Victor Lindelof move

22 July 2016 - 10:58

Chelsea will reportedly switch their focus to Benfica defender Victor Lindelof after they failed in their attempts to sign Leonardo Bonucci.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Juventus have been reluctant to place a price on Bonucci, and this has urged the Blues to pursue options elsewhere.

According to The Mirror, Antonio Conte has now set his sights on Lindelof, who was tipped to join Manchester United in January.

The 22-year-old had his breakthrough season last term as he earned himself a regular role at the Primeira Liga champions.

Benfica are likely to command a fee of around £25m for the centre-back, given he still has four years left on his current contract.

Lindelof has been capped six times by Sweden, with his debut coming against Turkey in March this year.

The Blues have already completed the signings of N'Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi in the current transfer window.
