Barcelona are close to confirming the signing of French forward Kevin Gameiro from league rivals Sevilla. The 29-year-old played a key role in the club's Europa League success last term.
The Catalan giants have been constantly pursuing a centre-forward this summer with Atletico Madrid's Lucas Vietto being their preferred option.
However, with Atleti reluctant to settle on a price for their player, the Spanish champions have opted to recruit Gameiro as back-up to the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Gameiro was a constant threat upfront last season as Sevilla went on to lift their third successive Europa League crown.
The 29-year-old has racked 67 goals and 16 assists in his time at the Andalusian outfit. The fee for the agreement has yet to be disclosed.
