Robin van Persie turns down Stoke City

Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has snubbed a loan move to Stoke City. The Dutchman will remain at Fenerbahce next season.

  • It had been earlier suggested that the Netherlands international could leave the Turkish outfit amid a rift with manager Vitor Pereira.

    However, offers have been few since with Stoke City being the latest to propose a temporary deal for his services.

    The Sentinel suggests that Van Persie has decided to remain at Fener following talks between the club and his representatives.

    Van Persie has caught the radar of a long list of clubs but none are willing to come close to his £240,000 weekly wages.

    The 32-year-old netted 20 goals in 45 outings for Fener last term despite rarely completing 90 minutes of a single game,
