Chelsea fail with Marcelo Brozovic bid

Inter Milan reject part-exchange deal for Brozovic

Chelsea fail with Marcelo Brozovic bid

21 August 2016 - 07:22

Chelsea have failed with a part-exchange deal for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. The Croatian was recently bought from Dinamo Zagreb after he impressed in his temporary spell at San Siro.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Gazzetta dello Sport says the Blues had offered John Obi Mikel in a player-plus-cash for the 23-year-old, which was swiftly rebuffed by the Nerazzurri.

Antonio Conte' side had failed in their approach for Roma's Radja Nainggolan earlier this summer, and this has urged them to step their pursuit for Brozovic.

Brozovic, who has previously been linked with Arsenal, could be allowed to leave the Nerazzurri this month, should they receive a straight offer for his services.

Inter are willing to accept bids in excess of £25m for the player as they are tight on the Financial Fair Play regulations.
