Arsenal have been handed a boost in the pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak. The Turkey international is open to pursuing his career at a bigger club this summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been on the search for a new centre-half for somewhile, and it seems Toprak could be solution before the transfer deadline.
According to Turkish-Football, the North London outfit have been given the green light to secure the player's services after Leverkusen identified a suitable replacement.
Toprak has recently hinted his desire to leave the Bundesliga outfit, and a fee of around £14m would be sufficient to lure the 6 foot 3 inch centre-back to the Emirates this month.
Should things go as planned, the 27-year-old is likely to fit in alongside Laurent Koscielny at the heart of the defence with Gabriel and Per Mertesacker out through injury.
