Agent: Man Utd will not sell Rojo this summer

29 August 2016 - 12:42

Marcos Rojo will not be leaving Manchester United this summer, after the club rejected several offers for the Argentinian defender according to his agent.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Speaking to Sport Witness, Marcos Rojo’s agent Carlos Conçalves has claimed that Manchester United have rejected several offers from home and abroad for his client, and that the former Sporting Clube de Portugal defender will be staying at Old Trafford this season.

It has been reported recently that Spanish side Valencia are interested in signing Rojo as they search for a replacement for the Arsenal bound World Cup winning defender Shkodran Mustafi.

It has also been claimed that United manager José Mourinho is still keen to sign José Fonte from Southampton and Brazilian right-back Fabinho from Monaco, but the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach must offload some high earning squad players before he can make any more signings.

And it was thought that Rojo would be one of the players that Mourinho would look to ship out, along with the likes of Matteo Darmian and Phil Jones, but Conçalves’s claims would appear to pour cold water on that notion, and Mourinho’s public stance that his transfer business is done for this summer will prove to be true.

Rojo signed for United from Sporting CP for £16 million in the summer of 2014, following some impressive displays for Argentina at the World Cup in Brazil.
