Liverpool to pursue Andrea Ranocchia loan

23 September 2016 - 13:16

Liverpool will return with a loan offer for Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. The Italy international is free to pursue a fresh challenge as he is not in the plans of Frank de Boer.

  • Barcelona have genuine interest in Chelsea forward
  • Man Utd handed boost in signing West Ham star?
  • The 28-year-old will be allowed to leave on a temporary basis over the summer having failed to convince De Boer of his abilities.

Ranocchia was once the club-captain at the Nerazzurri before he had a fall-out with former boss Roberto Mancini, and he has since become a fringe player at San Siro.

According to Calciomercato, the centre-half will be the subject of an approach from the Reds this winter with Jurgen Klopp being a huge admirer of the player's talents.

Liverpool were previously interested in Ranocchia at the start of 2016 before he opted to join Sampdoria on a short-term loan. The defender is currently contracted to Inter Milan until the summer of 2019.
