Spanish champions Barcelona are on the search for a new goalkeeper with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen failing to impress in La Liga.

  • The Catalan giants have opted to play Ter Stegen as the first-choice shot-stopper this season with summer arrival Jasper Cillessen warming the substitutes' bench.

Mundo Deportivo says the La Liga holders are looking to recruit a new player between the sticks with Luis Enrique not impressed by the performances of the new number one.

Ter Stegen was at fault for two goals at in the 4-3 loss to Celta Vigo over the weekend, and this has urged the club to consider a move for Valencia's Diego Alves.

Alves has an excellent record from the penaly spot having saved 19 spot kicks from 41 attempts in the Spanish league. He has also earned eight caps with the Brazilian national side.
