Man City to table £40m bid for Bellerin

10 October 2016 - 06:39

Manchester City are prepared to test Arsenal's resolve with a £40m bid for young defender Hector Bellerin. Pep Guardiola is keen on bolstering his full-back options in the New Year.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao

  • Widespread sources suggest that Pep is looking to add a couple of left-backs to his squad whilst the need for a new right-sided defender also remains a priority.

Bellerin has been one of the stand-out performers for the Gunners over the past year, and this seems to have captured interest from Pep, who previously tracked the player's progress at former club Barcelona.

The Spain international is currently assessing his future at the Emirates, and he could force him way out of the club, should Arsene Wenger fail to pen a contract extension.

Wenger, who has played a key role in Bellerin's development, has been tipped to leave the Gunners' post when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
