Man Utd sign Rooney's six-year-old son

Manchester United have signed Wayne Rooney’s six-year-old son Kai to their youth academy, according to reports.

  • The Mirror is reporting that Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney’s son Kai has been snapped up to in the Red Devil’s youth set up, as the six-year-old dreams of following in his father’s footsteps.

    Rooney jnr. Will not be the only offspring of a United star in the youth team either, as the Old Trafford club are also reported to have signed Michael Carrick’s young son Jacey.

    It is said that the England captain’s son is sporty and fancies himself to make a living in the same trade as his father.

    Wayne Rooney is currently experienced a difficult period in his career, having recently been dropped to the bench by United boss Jose Mourinho for their game against Leicester City, and he has been unable to regain his starting place since. The 30-year-old is also thought to be set for the bench at international level too, with news breaking today the caretaker England manager Gareth Southgate will drop his skipper for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

    Rooney started in his favoured midfield position in the Three Lions’ last fixture, at home to Malta at the Weekend. But he failed to convince as England managed only a 2-0 victory over their low ranked opposition, with the United man guilty of conceding possession on several occasions.
