Zaza has failed to impress the Hammers

Napoli considering move for West Ham's Zaza

11 October 2016 - 15:41

Napoli are considering a move for West Ham United’s on loan striker Simone Zaza in the January transfer window, after Arkadiusz Milik was ruled out for several months with a knee ligament injury suffered on international duty, according to reports in Italy.

  • Arsenal to confirm second summer signing tomorrow
  • Chelsea have just signed Brazilian star for £60m

  • Italian media outlet Il Mattino is reporting that Napoli might make a January move for Italian international striker Simone Zaza as a replacement for €30 million summer signing Arkadiusz Milik, who has been ruled out for several months thanks to an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury suffered while on international duty with Poland last week.

Zaza is currently on loan with West Ham United but has failed to impress at the London Stadium so far this season.

The 25-year-old has made five appearances for the Hammers to date and is yet to register a goal. West Ham are obligated to pay around £20 million to make his move from Juventus permanent if he makes a minimum of 10 appearances. The East Londoners are considering scrapping the loan deal for Zaza all together.

With Milik out long term, and having sold Argentinian star Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus for a Serie A record €90 million this summer, Napoli are on the lookout for another striker to help ease the burden that will be put on Manolo Gabbiadini.

They were linked with moves for Emmanuel Adebayor and Dimitar Berbatov yesterday.
