25 October 2016 - 06:49

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is eyeing a winter bid for Bayern Munich defender Juan Bernat. The Spain international currently plays second fiddle to David Alaba for the left-back role.

  • Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign Chelsea target
  • Chelsea now want to sign West Ham star after Joao Pedro

  • According to The Sun, Pep is prepared to make a raid on his former club as he bids to recruit a couple of full-backs for his squad.

Bernat, who is primarily a left-back by trade, has captured the attention of his former boss, with Gael Clichy likely to depart at the end of the campaign.

The Citizens have had their issues at the back this season, and there are also on the search for a new right-sided defender. Pep has blocked contract negotiations with French right-back Bacary Sagna and signs are he will leave on a free next summer.

Bernat has appeared over 50 times for the German champions since arriving from Valencia in 2014.
