AC Milan target Bastian Schweinsteiger

AC Milan are prepared to offer an escape route to Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German footballer has not featured for the Red Devils this season.

  • Chelsea winger suffers head injury vs Nottingham Forest
  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • Schweinsteiger, 32, recently returned to first-team training, having been neglected by Jose Mourinho during the opening stages of the campaign.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri are looking to add a central midfielder to their ranks and see Schweinsteiger as a possible target in the January transfer window.

Milan skipper Riccardo Montolivo is sidelined for at least four months through injury, and this has urged them to recruit a cheap option to fill the void.

Manchester United currently value Schweinsteiger in the £2.5m range, and it is believed that the German will make the final choice on his next destination.

Schweinsteiger made 31 appearances for the Mancunian giants last term following his move from Bayern Munich.
