France international Mamadou Sakho will be shown the Liverpool exit door when the transfer window reopens in January. The centre-back is deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield.
The 26-year-old had displayed poor behaviour during the club's pre-season tour of the United States, and has since fallen out with manager Jurgen Klopp.
France Football claims that the former PSG man has given up on earning a return to the Reds first-team, and will pursue his career at a fresh club in 2017.
Lille have been recently associated with the player's services, but Sakho is more focused on joining a club participating in Europe.
Sakho has not featured for the Reds since their 2-1 win over Bournemouth in April, after which he was deemed to have used a prohibited substance. He was cleared of the charges two months later.
