Jorgen Sampaoli dismisses Cesc Fabregas link

Fabregas not on Sevilla radar

Jorgen Sampaoli dismisses Cesc Fabregas link

11 November 2016 - 07:10

Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli has insisted that his side are not in contention to sign midfielder Cesc Fabregas in January. The Spaniard has earned less than 90 minutes of Premier League action this term.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Galatasaray, Salah starts
  • Recent speculation suggested the Europa League holders could lodge an attempt for the World Cup winner, who is available on a temporary deal in the New Year.

However, Sampaoli has put cold water to the speculation by iterating that he is content with the options in hand at Sevillistas .

"He's (Fabregas) very intelligent and it's clear he's a player any coach would love to have. But it hasn't crossed my mind that he could be here," he told reporters.

"We're linked with players day in, day out. We value the squad that we have here highly and I'm not thinking about any more than that."

Fabregas' sole league start this term came in a dismal 3-0 defeat at former side Arsenal where he was withdrawn after 55 minutes.
