Jason Denayer is hoping to cut ties with Manchester City in the January transfer window. The defender is currently on a season-long loan with Sunderland.

  • The 21-year-old has impressed in his short stint at Wearside this season, and is now prepared to commit his future to the Black Cats on a permanent basis.

    According to The Sun, the versatile defender has doubts over his position at the Etihad, and this has urged him to consider a stay with David Moyes' side.

    Denayer has coped well in the holding midfield position for Sunderland this month, and the club could land his services on a permanent contract for &pound10m this winter.

    The Belgian international has yet to make a competitive appearance for Manchester City despite being hailed as one of the best talents from the academy.
