West Brom end Mamadou Sakho interest

07 December 2016 - 08:13

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly dropped their interest in Mamadou Sakho ahead of the winter transfer window. The France international has yet to kick the ball for Liverpool this season.

  • Chelsea interested in signing Atalanta star
  • Bayern Munich keeping tabs on wantaway Chelsea star
  • Sakho, 26, has fallen out-of-favour under Jurgen Klopp ever since his poor behaviour during the pre-season tour of the United States.

The central defender was tipped to pursue a fresh challenge away from Anfield in the summer but he opted otherwise, and this has seen him being banished to the Under-23 side.

Recent speculation suggested the Baggies could lodge a temporary deal for the Frenchman in January, but according to ESPN, Tony Pulis has decided against the move.

The Baggies boss is deemed to have watched Sakho in the Under-23 clash against Derby County where he was unimpressed by the centre-back's performance.

Sakho is currently on the radar of several French clubs, and a route back to Ligue 1 looks a distinct possibility in the New Year.
